These Are The Days
By: Yaeli Abraham
Do you hear it walking out the door?
The laughter and youth we deeply adore,
or the fleeting moments of fain
basking in the summer rain.
Day by day, exploring life’s one-way trip,
always struggling to gain a steady grip
Soon, the infinite roads come into play.
And we are just children at the end of the day.
Uncertainty is the future’s first name
but with all the doubts, it is only ours to claim.
For years, we’ve imagined where we’d be,
but what if it’s a future we’ll never get to see?
I say this now, as clear as broken glass.
My biggest fear is losing what was never meant to last.
As the years pass me by, one thing I’ll always know
is these are the days we won’t want to let go.
